Life Economics Lab (LEL) has adapted these methodologies specifically for governors, mayors, cabinet secretaries, business leaders, and social actors driving development in their territories. More than a communication course, this experience is an intensive laboratory of practical leadership empowering participants to become more influential, more persuasive, and more capable of mobilizing people, organizations, and territories toward shared development goals.

About the Professor

Professor Steve Jarding is an internationally renowned educator, speaker, political strategist, communications expert, and leadership consultant with over forty years of experience advising presidents, prime ministers, governors, senators, parliamentarians, corporate executives, and emerging leaders around the world.
Professor Jarding joined Harvard University in 2004 as a member of the Harvard Institute of Politics, where he led study groups and delivered lectures on politics, campaign strategy, governance, and public leadership. He subsequently joined the faculty of Harvard Kennedy School, where he taught continuously from 2004 until his retirement in 2019.
During his tenure at the Kennedy School, Jarding taught courses on political communication, campaign management, leadership and persuasion, lobbying and governmental relations, oratory and communicative strategy, and political messaging and narrative development. His signature courses "Running for Public Office and Managing Campaigns" and "The Making of a Politician" became legendary among Harvard students for their intense practice, transformative impact, and real-world application. His campaign management course was twice nominated for the prestigious "Most Influential Course" award in American higher education.
As associate professor and principal consultant, Professor Jarding brings a unique combination of Harvard-level academic excellence, practical governmental and political experience, global leadership expertise, strategic communication capabilities, and decades of work developing senior executives worldwide.
